Now that Travis Barker is dating Keeping Up With The Kardashian star Kourtney Kardashian, the fans are unfolding some of the skeletons following the famous musician. Rumors about Kourtney and Travis' relationship date back to 2018, but the couple has never been more official than they currently are.
For the fans who are unfamiliar with Travis Barker's controversial past, the Blink-182 star has a history of getting involved in drama prior to his relationship with Kourtney Kardashian. As a rebellious rockstar, Travis has found himself in conflict with over-the-top personalities as well as his own mental health. Despite having made peace with most of his demons from his past, Kardashian fans are likely to remember the public problems Travis has faced.
Even though Kourtney surely knows the rock star she is dating, there is some baggage that Travis is bringing into his high-profile relationship. From a contentious relationship with his ex-wife to battling addiction, keep reading to find out some of the biggest struggles that make up Travis' history over the years.
Travis and his ex-wife Shanna Moakler have had a publicly tumultuous relationship with one another since the beginning of their relationship in 2004. After a few years of marriage, the couple embarked on a messy back-and-forth that began in 2008. Shanna and Travis have had choice words for each other for over a decade. In the past, Shanna called Travis' girlfriends "drug addicts" and Travis labeled Shanna a "f*cking call girl." In 2014, police got involved in Travis and Shanna's rocky fallout. Shanna claimed that Travis said he would "put a bullet in [her] head," and Travis alleged Shanna "threatened to have her boyfriend come and beat him up." Even though Travis and Shanna haven't been involved in each other's lives for a few years, Shanna has reemerged from Travis' past to comment on his new relationship with Kourtney. Specifically, Shanna claimed that Travis and Kim Kardashian had an affair while Shanna was married to Travis.
Travis Barker's feud with Blink-182 bandmate Tom DeLonge is another one of the drummer's soured relationships that have tainted his reputation. According to Diffuser, Travis found it difficult working with Tom because he didn't "want to record." Travis was upset that Tom abruptly left the band through an email from his manager that read, "Tom's out." At one point, Tom tweeted that he had conversations about asking Barker to quit Blink-182 during their contentious journey as bandmates. Tom appeared to constantly change his mind about whether or not he wanted Travis in the band. This kept the pair of musicians' relationship in a combative limbo that follows Travis to this day.
In addition to the controversial personalities that Travis has butted heads with, the drummer has also fought with his internal demons. In 2008, Travis survived a plane crash that changed his life completely. One positive way this tragedy impacted the drummer's life was that it drove him to face his pill addiction. Travis shared with Billboard that he was "abusing pills every day" before the crash. While he was in the hospital, Travis was receiving medication to help him endure the pain of the accident, and it put his relationship with drugs in perspective. Regrettably, the plane crash has left Travis with PTSD. According to Self, Travis couldn't even look at a plane in the sky without thinking it would crash. Although Travis has overcome his symptoms through months of therapy, the lasting effects of his trauma are understandably still a factor in his relationship with Keeping Up With The Kardashians star Kourtney.
