The Pokemon world is once again receiving a brand new addition with the release of Pokemon Unite, which pits players against each other in a League of Legends type MOBA game. Players will need to team up with four other players and face off against another team of five in battles to take over certain control points and gain points for their team. Each team though will be able to play as several different types of Pokemon.
These Pokemon that players will be able to choose from range from many different games and eras in the Pokemon universe. Players can choose from popular favorites like Pikachu and Charizard to more rare characters like Zeraora. Each of these Pokemon will bring their own unique abilities and skills to the table though, so its a smart move to decide which one is best suited for a given role. This guide shows players the best build possible for Absol.
Absol is a Pokemon who can be a little difficult for the player to get used to, but once they do this Pokemon is an incredible character to play as. Absol is a Speedster, which means that most of its abilities and stats are centered around making this character as speedy as possible. Absol in particular is one of the faster Speedsters in the game, so its mobility makes it a top-tier addition to any team. The only downside though is that the character tends to be fairly weak from a defensive side of things, which can leave unskilled players dying fairly often.
This build for Absol will have a few abilities to help boost its already impressive speed and mobility, but on top of that some other things will be picked up to give Absol more damage-dealing potential. This build is ultimately the best pick for someone who wants to ride a fine line between speed and damage rather than heavily prioritizing one over the other. The first choice for any Pokemon build in this game are the moves that the player wants to pick up. Players will level up during the course of a match, and when they hit certain points they are given the opportunity to pick new moves. The moves that the player will want to select are:
Level 1 - At the first level, the player will want to be using Feint. This attack allows the player to dash around at their enemies and deal damage to any Pokemon that they come into contact with. If used this attack will completely ignore an opponent's defense stat and any shields that they are using to deal straight damage.
Level 5 - Upon reaching level 5 the player gets the chance to choose a new ability to upgrade their Feint ability into. For this build the best choice for the player to make is Pursuit. This allows the player to dash forward and attack an opposing Pokemon with a basic attack. If they manage to hit the enemy from behind this will deal increased damage and also reduce this ability's cooldown.
Level 7 - at this level the player also gets to upgrade their secondary ability, Slash. The player should select the ability Psycho Cut, which will attack enemies ahead of the player with psychic blades and also allow the next three basic attacks to deal extra damage. Keep in mind as well that both Pursuit and Psycho Cut will receive upgrades at level 11 and level 13 respectively the will boost Absol's speed considerably.
The player also gets the chance to choose between different items to bring with them into combat in this game that will drastically change the way that they perform. While there are several different items for the player to choose from, there are also just a few that will benefit them more than others. Here are the best items for Absol to have in their possession:
- Scope Lens - The Scope Lens will increase Absol's critical hit chance as well as the damage that they deal when a critical hit lands.
- Attack Weight - This will grant Absol an immediate attack boost and will also boost its attack whenever the player scores a point.
- Float Stone - With this Absol will be granted an attack and speed boost, but will also be granted additional speed whenever they are outside of combat.
Pokemon Unite can be played on the Nintendo Switch now and on Android and iOS sometime later this year.
