The Best Weapons in Crowfall | Screen Rant

Crowfall is a unique take on the beloved MMO genre where users partake in massive campaigns across the server and shape the history of the world they fight, build, and trade-in. With a player-driven economy, users enhance their weaponsmithing skills to craft arms for their allies to use in battle. So naturally, this leads to player-crafted weaponry and all the complexities that come with it.

Much like in other MMOs, Crowfall has a number of classes to pick from. Each class in Crowfall wields specific weapon types: Duelists wield pistols, Knights wield longswords, and so on. While some classes wield more than one type, there’s not too much overlap. So this begs the question: which weapon is the very best? The answer to that question is difficult, because if axes were the best weapon type, then nobody would want to play as a class that can’t use them. However, one aspect that each weapon has in common is how they’re customized. Nearly every aspect of a Crowfall weapon, such as the pommel, hilt, or weapon head, can be personally crafted and augmented via weaponsmithing, so here's what players should look out for when picking and making their arsenal.

First, players will need to travel to a main temple and speak with the vendors stationed there. While the resources needed to craft weapons like ore are harvestable out in the game world, these vendors sell something important players can’t mine out of the ground: Disciplines. These passive abilities enhance things like combat prowess, exploration, and material harvesting, and also allow players to smith weapons. Equipping the right Discipline, which varies depending on what weapon the player wants to make, will unlock the crafting recipes for the weapon components at a Blacksmithing Station. Found in the same temple as the Discipline vendors, using one of these stations will pull up a user interface containing everything they can create. Clicking on the Blacksmithing button on the left side of the screen will bring up a myriad of options where players can select what weapon type they want to create in the Advanced Weapons section. Choosing the desired weapon will pull up a screen showing all the components needed to make it, like weapon heads and hilts.

During many of these crafting sessions is when players are given the option to customize each aspect of the weapon, and it’s where the ‘best weapon’ question comes into play. Upon creating an item, an ‘Experiment Screen’ pops up where players can invest points into things like Damage, Armor Penetration, Critical Healing Chance, Support Power, Durability, and more. This is what gives each weapon its unique abilities and constitutions and choosing to invest in the right ones will make them the best they can be. Without a doubt, the best investment players can make is in Damage, making each hit deal as powerful as possible. Critical Healing Chance only raises probability and has no guarantee, while not every class can take advantage of support power. Damage output is something that will always be needed in combat, so weapons that focus on that trait will perform the best for any class. Keep in mind that the higher level a player is, the more points they can spend on customization.

There are other options to obtain weapons in Crowfall that don't require crafting, but in exchange, there isn't the same level of customization. For starters, vendor NPCs will sell weapons for a gold fee, but the durability won't be nearly as high as a player-crafted weapon, meaning they won't last as long. Further, hostile enemies can drop powerful weapons upon defeat, though there isn't any guarantee. Alternatively, if the player has a friend or ally proficient in crafting weapons or their components, provide them with the raw materials and ask them to make the weapon with the desired specifications. Cooperation between a large player base is a big part of Crowfall after all, so take advantage of it when possible.
