Wheel of Time Poster Confirms November 2021 Release On Amazon

A new poster for Amazon Prime Video's live-action The Wheel of Time confirms a November 2021 release date for the series. As the streaming wars continue to heat up, Amazon Prime Video is increasing its output of original programming based on known pieces of IP. They've experienced great success with comic book shows The Boys and Invincible and acquiring major blockbusters like The Tomorrow War and Without Remorse. But, the service is also set to explore the fantasy genre with Lord of the Rings and The Wheel of Time.

Based on the fantasy series by James Oliver Rigney Jr.'s pen name Robert Jordan, Amazon's The Wheel of Time show stars Rosamund Pike as Moiraine Damodred. Amazon originally began developing a live-action adaptation of the books in 2018, but casting wasn't announced until 2019. Filming began in late 2020 but was unable to finish before COVID-19 shut down production for months. It wasn't until May 2021 that The Wheel of Time officially wrapped filming, leaving fans of the novels anticipating the series waiting to learn when the show will debut.

As part of Comic-Con@Home 2021, Amazon revealed the first teaser poster for The Wheel of Time and confirmed when the show will debut. The poster features Rosamund Pike's sorceress from the Blue Aja of the Aes Sedai, a group of women who can harness the One Power. The very bottom of the poster confirmed The Wheel of Time releases on Amazon Prime Video this November, but no specific release day was announced.

This isn't the first look Amazon has released for The Wheel of Time. 2021 has given fans a few opportunities to see teases of what the show will contain. The short videos have shown a ruby-encrusted dagger, presumably from Shadar Logoth, and the first look at Rosamund Pike as Moiraine Damodred. There was even a glimpse at Daniel Henney as Lan Mandragoran in the third teaser Amazon released. With The Wheel of Time now confirmed to come out in November, it might not be too long before a proper trailer arrives now.

Even though audiences have yet to see that much from The Wheel of Time, Amazon is quite confident that the fantasy show will be a hit. The Wheel of Time season 2 is currently filming after Amazon gave the show an early renewal. There is plenty of source material for the show to have a multi-season run, and Amazon is clearly planning for that to be the case. This should be good news for viewers who enjoy The Wheel of Time when it releases this November too, as fans can rest assured that the story will continue no matter what happens in the finale.
