10 Marvel Characters You Didn't Know Had Venom Versions

Venom is one of the most dangerous and vicious entities in Marvel Comics, but he's also one of the characters most beloved by fans. That's not an easy feat for a character who's an alien symbiote with an appetite for brains and chocolate. Venom has appeared more than a handful of times across the comics, and with more than a few famous hosts.

The Venom symbiote has laid its inky clutches on heroes and villains alike. It'll look for a new plaything no matter where the host might come from or on what side of justice they fight, as long as they possess rage or power.

10 The Scorpion

Along with Venom, The Scorpion is also one of Spider-Man's most fearsome foes. So it's no surprise that when they bound together, they made things less than ideal for a certain wall-crawling web-slinger. It was definitely a match made in villain heaven.

Bound by their lust for vengeance and hatred for Spider-Man, Mac Gargan was more than willing to take Venom on as his symbiotic ally, especially when it came with the chance to get one over on his nemesis before the symbiote was forcibly removed from its host.

9 Harry Osborn

During an alternate-universe story where Harry becomes the Patrioteer of Earth-12041, he has an encounter with a piece of Spidey's Symbiote Suit. After wearing the Spider-Man persona for a short while, Venom began to crave more adrenaline and soon took control away from his host.

Eventually, Harry went full-venom and mayhem followed, essentially mirroring Spider-Man's struggle with the creature on Earth-616. The symbiote was eventually removed, but not before severing a small piece onto Harry to come back for revenge.

8 Flash Thompson

An unusual entry, but one that deserves mentioning. Flash Thompson went from Peter Parker's regular bully on campus to becoming a wounded war hero whose heroic deeds were ironically inspired by his punching bag's alter ego.

After being separated from The Scorpion, the symbiote was used in a top-secret supersoldier experiment which Flash was offered. Accepting after losing his legs in a firefight, he was injected with a serum containing Venom's genetic material, turning him into the somewhat unstable Agent Venom.

7 The Human Torch

Johnny Storm is famous for a lot of things, mostly activities involving some pyrotechnic stunts. But he definitely holds the record for being one person that the Venom symbiote could stand the least. While Venom was being held in Reed Richard's lab for study and observation, the symbiote decided to attempt a bond with the Four's resident hot-head. Try as it might, it just couldn't stick around.

Venom is vulnerable to two main things: sonic vibrations and intense heat. Since the latter half of that equation is pretty much half of the Human Torch's identity, it was a very brief yet explosive relationship.

6 Ms. Marvel

Before she was Captain Marvel in the MCU, Carol Danvers was Ms. Marvel in the comics. During her run, she also had an encounter with a certain symbiote, becoming She-Venom with a side of cosmic powers. It might be overkill to some readers, but Venom doesn't seem to mind.

Venom has been attached to many different heroes, but even he admitted to having a preference for Carol's firey alter ego. But that's to be expected when your powers include flight and energy blasts.

5 The Incredible Hulk

While he might not be Venom's favorite host, the Venom Hulk is a force of nature that should make most other symbiotes tremble with fear. And there's no Dr. Banner to keep the big green giant under control this time either, meaning that Venom is being fueled by 100% fury.

After a battle with Carnage kills Bruce Banner while Venom seeks a new host, he finds the perfect substitute for Eddie Brock in the Incredible Hulk. Turns out, only his human half was affected, leading to the creation of one of the biggest, baddest monstrosities in all of Marvel.

4 Wolverine

Venom has had cosmic powers, Scorpion's tail, hyper-intelligence, and the power of flight. Thanks to his mutated host, he was also briefly given his indestructible claws. And he's just as vicious as the alien symbiote.

Those who think Eddie Brock was the first person to become venom outside of Spider-Man are what some in the business like to call wrong. In fact, in the Web of Venom storyline, it was the hot-headed Wolverine that drew the symbiote's attention before the hateful Brock.

3 Rocket Raccoon

Rocket is definitely one tough customer, even for a symbiote to lay into. After Agent Venom decided to pal around with the Guardians for a while, members of the team were exposed to his other half, and Rocket was the perfect host.

Anyone remotely familiar with the Guardians' favorite trash panda knows that he's got a lot of rage and a very short fuse, perfect bait for Venom. The fun doesn't stop there. The Rocket/Venom hybrid has the ability to sprout guns, canons, and other weapons from his body. Even his arboreal buddy Groot was terrified of him.

2 Galactus

The only thing that could be more dangerous and deadly than a Venom that can sprout weapons out of his back would be a Venom that can devour entire planets. It takes some serious skill to get a character like Galactus under one's control, but the results are nevertheless apocalyptic.

Larger than the Hulk and more cosmically deadly than Ms. Marvel or any of the Guardians of the Galaxy, Galactus Venom is essentially the eater of planets with Venom's voracious nature. Even though it was only an illusion, it's still quite a terrifying idea.

1 Deadpool

The only being in the multiverse with a mouth bigger than Venom's is none other than Deadpool, himself. In an alternate universe, Venom took possession of everyone's favorite wisecracking, self-aware mercenary. But it's one of the few Venom versions that feels both controlled and unbalanced at the same time.

According to the Secret Wars run, it was Deadpool that ensnared the symbiote before it found Spidey. He even went as far as to influence the creature's personality, but that might not have been for the best.
