Sisters, there are still plenty of fascinating facts about Tammy's life that fans don't know. From her childhood to her recent relationship status, there is so much to learn about her life.

Although her starring role on 1000-Lb. Sisters made Tammy's story accessible to millions of fans, she lived an interesting and challenging life before the show. In an interview with Courier Journal, Tammy revealed that she had a difficult childhood. Tammy recalled that her mother was always busy working (she had three jobs), so Tammy and her sister Amy were raised by their grandmother. When Tammy and Amy's beloved grandmother died, Tammy said that "our whole world changed." With no one to care for Tammy and Amy, the sisters were left to look after themselves. Tammy explained that this period of time was the beginning of her unhealthy diet, as they "ate to survive." Amy and Tammy starred on 1000-Lb. Sisters because they thought that doing the show would motivate them on their weight loss journey.

On 1000-Lb. Sisters, Tammy is attempting to lose enough weight to qualify for bariatric surgery. This operation adjusts intestinal hormone levels to make weight loss more achievable. Amy was able to undergo the operations, but Tammy has not yet reached her necessary weight. Tammy has shared that she finds this operation vital because she has overcome a variety of illnesses over the past decade. Recently, Tammy got sick with COVID-19 and had to be hospitalized. After returning from the hospital, Tammy was placed on supplemental oxygen.

Despite her health complications, Tammy has continued to fight to achieve weight loss goals and recently celebrated her 35th birthday on July 27 (see her birthday IG post below). In addition to her reality TV gig, Tammy is popular on a variety of social media platforms. On Instagram, Tammy has 212,000 followers. Tammy had also acquired over 1 million followers on TikTok, but she is currently banned from the social network for posting explicit videos.

Although Tammy is popular on Instagram and TikTok, her fame originated from her YouTube channel. Before Tammy and Amy got their own reality show, they were making YouTube videos for millions of viewers. Originally, Tammy was featured in Amy's videos, but in 2018, Tammy made a channel of her own. Tammy has shared hundreds of videos on her YouTube and now has over 5.7 million views.

On top of her career as a personality on TV and social media, Tammy spent time with Phillip Redmond. Amy's husband Michael Halterman has been a great help to Tammy, but then she got a significant other of her own. However, according to Metro UK, Tammy split with Phillip this summer. She reportedly deleted posts with him from her social media. Tammy had dated Jerry Sykes, but he turned out to be a married man. Phillip goes by the name thebbwking on TikTok. Tammy has also revealed on 1000-Lb. Sisters that she identifies as pansexual.

From a childhood filled with stress to contracting COVID-19, Tammy's life has been full of obstacles to overcome. Despite the strife, Tammy continues to be a devoted sister, while entertaining millions of fans. Tammy is still fighting an uphill battle on 1000-Lb. Sisters, but her track record shows that she's not likely to back down.
