Everything Sister Wives & The Bachelor Have In Common

Although Sister Wives and The Bachelor are two shows with entirely different premises, they actually have quite a few similarities. Sister Wives follows the life of Kody Brown and his four wives, where The Bachelor follows one man’s journey to find a woman to marry. Kody may live a different lifestyle than the leading men on The Bachelor, but ultimately both shows focus on love and balancing multiple relationships. Both Sister Wives and The Bachelor focus on one man, his relationships with several women, and the obstacles that come with it.

Kody lives a polygamous lifestyle, which means he chooses to actively pursue marriages with multiple women. On The Bachelor, the leading man dates various women at the same time until he narrows down his pool of contestants and proposes to one woman. Both men are balancing relationships with several women, but they have different intentions with these women. Kody is balancing marriages with four women, where the Bachelor only intends to marry one woman at the end of his journey.

Both The Bachelor and Sister Wives show the difficulties and obstacles presented when one man pursues multiple women. The shows focus on individual relationships between a man and one of the women he is pursuing, but they also focus on the man’s relationship status as a whole. The Bachelor follows a man's love life for only a few short weeks, but Sister Wives has followed Kody throughout the years as his relationships evolve. Either way, although the challenges may differ, both situations pose their own set of obstacles to resolve.

Relationships require a lot of attention and effort, no matter how many people are involved. The leading men on Sister Wives and The Bachelor have had moments where they had to make hard decisions and prioritize certain relationships. Women on both shows have to stand out and fight for their man’s attention, whether they earn a first impression rose or put exceptional effort into their marriage. It tends to cause a lot of jealousy and hurt feelings, which is unfortunately expected when a lot of people are trying to win the attention of one person, no matter what the situation may be. This is why arguments, drama, and controversies surround both shows.

Between the couples and the women themselves, both shows have their fair share of drama and fights. Kody has had arguments with all of his wives before, and almost every Bachelor has been involved in a shocking feud with at least one woman during his season. Even excluding the men, jealousy and pettiness are the root of most arguments among the women. It can be mentally difficult to fight for a man’s heart, especially when there are many other women also fighting for his attention.

Kody Brown leads a very different lifestyle from any man who leads a season of The Bachelor, but their shows present quite a few similarities. From pursuing multiple women, navigating various relationships, and overcoming obstacles arising from drama, these men have had similar experiences, despite their very different values. It is not easy to be in multiple relationships at the same time, but Sister Wives and The Bachelor both show the ups and downs of it all.
