Xbox Game Pass Launches For Into the Pit & More Games Announced

A host of new and exciting games have been announced for Xbox Game Pass, including Into The PitDodgeball Academia, and Chinatown Detective Agency. The announcements come courtesy of the Xbox Gamescom 2021 showcase, which also revealed a new look at Dying Light 2, Microsoft Flight Simulator, and more.

Xbox Game Pass is recognized as one of the best deals in gaming, with the subscription service offering a wide range of AAA and indie games available across Xbox consoles and PC. Game Pass has seen a number of day one releases this year, including the likes of Twelve Minutes and Microsoft Flight Simulator for console, giving fans with an active subscription access to brand-new launches from the moment they release. The rest of the year is looking even more impressive, with day one Xbox Game Pass titles including the upcoming Forza Horizon 5 which is due to launch in November.

The new exciting batch of games coming to Xbox Game Pass has been confirmed by Xbox, with 10 indie games available to play on day one via PC, console, and cloud. The selection, from Humble Games, consists of the following games:

  • Archvale
  • Bushiden
  • Chinatown Detective Agency
  • Dodgeball Academia
  • Flynn: Son of Crimson
  • Midnight Fight Express
  • Next Space Rebels
  • Signalis
  • Unpacking
  • Unsighted

As well as the Humble Games announcement, Xbox has revealed Into the Pit, a fast-paced retro-FPS roguelite set in a cursed village. Players take on the role of a lore-hunting mystic tasked with growing their magical powers and rescuing the survivors of the village's demonic portal. The game looks like it will appeal to Doom fans, with a heavy focus on demons and destruction. Into the Pit will release on October 19.

The Humble Games titles offer a wide range of experiences to suit all types of players, with games from various genres including horror, action, and puzzle. Flynn: Son of Crimson should appeal to action platformer fans, but those looking for a spookier experience should try out survival horror SignalisArchvale promises to deliver a challenge with its mixture of classic RPG elements and bullet hell gameplay, while the cybernoir point-and-click adventure Chinatown Detective Agency will offer an exciting narrative experience with a retro feel. The Humble Games selection has something for everyone, and each game will be available via Xbox Game Pass from their individual release dates.

2021 is proving to be one of the best years in Xbox Game Pass history, putting day one releases in the hands of players and allowing fans to test out titles they might not normally show an interest in. Earlier this year Microsoft's purchase of Bethesda parent company ZeniMax Media meant more Bethesda RPGs on Xbox Game Pass than ever before, and with regular new Game Pass announcements and additions the service is shaping up to be a must-have for Xbox fans.
