Keeping Up With the Kardashians alum Kanye West is set to open up like never before in a new Netflix documentary called JEEN-YUHS that will share an "intimate" portrayal recapping the last 20 years of his life and career. Over the years, Kanye has picked and chosen when he wanted to make himself heard. He made a few brief cameos on KUWTK alongside his ex Kim Kardashian, but Kanye has never opened up his personal life in the way that the Kardashian-Jenner family members have always done.
Kanye recently released his latest album, Donda. This project was highly anticipated among hip hop fans after Kanye teased the album by hosting three massive listening parties between his birthplace, Atlanta, and his hometown, Chicago. Kim and Kanye showed that they were in a better place given that Kim attended all three events. During the third event, she came out in a white wedding gown as the divorcing couple seemingly recreated their wedding day. Now that his new music is out, Kanye is ready to share another side of himself and recap his rise to billionaire status.
Over the weekend, Netflix shared a teaser (included below) for Kanye's upcoming documentary series, which is titled JEEN-YUHS. The two-minute clip revealed a throwback rap cypher between Kanye and rapper Mos Def shot in New York in 2002. At the time, Mos Def was already a well-respected lyricist in hip hop, whereas Kanye was an up-and-coming artist signed to Roc-A-Fella Records. After breaking through the industry as a producer, Kanye continued to promote himself as a rapper as well. The short clip shows the passion and the drive Kanye possessed early on as he continued to prove himself as the influential artist he's become.
Kanye fans left comments in support of this upcoming docu-series, with many expressing their anticipation to watch it. As one fan put it, the rapper has continued to rise to the occasion and remain successful through his art despite all the controversy he causes during his elevation as a mogul. "A Kanye documentary is so needed from Netflix," the fan said. "The man has already created 12 incredibly different albums in sound, production, and theme, made a popular clothing brand that's still running to this day, and has influenced an entire generation within music." Indeed, Kanye has become a renowned superstar through his work in music and in fashion.
From designing sneakers for luxury brands to breaking out with his own Yeezy clothing line, Kanye has solidified his acclaim in fashion and in the arts. Despite all the backlash he receives for the things he says and ways he chooses to represent himself, "he's always come out on top," the fan noted. Kanye had already achieved these things ahead of starting a family with Kim, but his marriage and four children with the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star might make an appearance in the new documentary as well.
