Destiny 2 Season of the Lost week nine challenges are now available to complete for additional XP, Bright Dust, and Wayfinder's Compass levels. In week nine, the community continues to wait for the ley lines to align so that Savathûn's worm may be exorcised. This final step with Savathûn brings the story closer to the Witch Queen expansion. The release of week nine in Season of the Lost brings the total number of challenges to 72.
Additionally, the Festival of the Lost continues in Destiny 2. Festival of the Lost is the in-game Halloween-themed celebration, and although it isn't part of any weekly challenges players should still spend their time earning its rewards. By wearing one of the event masks, players can earn spectral pages and candy by playing and completing any activity. Complete the event's Haunted Lost Sectors activity to earn Destiny 2's new Jurassic Green Pulse Rifle.
Week nine of Season of the Lost also introduces the new Legendary difficulty for the Astral Alignment activity. Like the Legendary Nigthfalls, this new difficulty will include various mission modifiers that further increase the challenge. Weekly Taken rotating modifiers and constant modifiers will be implemented in every Legendary Astral Alignment. If the entire fireteam dies, however, the activity will be finished and everyone will return to orbit. Week nine challenges do not include the requirement for players to get the Vanguard ornament for the Ascendancy Rocket Launcher, so players should expect to see that challenge be issued in week 10.
These are Astral Alignment Legendary modifiers:
- Denial (Rotating Modifier): Taken Vandals summon their shields significantly more often.
- Epitaph (Rotating Modifier): Taken combatants generate blight geysers when defeated.
- Empath (Rotating Modifier): Enhanced radar, take increased damage from melee.
- Champions: Overload and Unstoppable
- Equipment Locked
- Match Game
These are the week nine challenges in Destiny 2 Season of the Lost:
- Legendary Ley Liner (Rewards 100,000+ XP and Wayfinder's Compass Calibration Level): Complete the Astral Alignment activity at Legendary difficulty.
- Astral Assault (Rewards 50,000 XP and Wayfinder's Compass Calibration Level): Defeat combatants with Auto Rifles and melee attacks. Defeating combatants in the Astral Alignment activity grants bonus progress.
- Trial by Firing Squad (Rewards 200,000+ XP, 300 Bright Dust, and a Trials of Osiris Weapon): Win 20 rounds in the Trials of Osiris.
- Elemental Gambit (Rewards 100,000+ XP and 150 Bright Dust): Complete Gambit matches with each elemental subclass.
- Armory-Wide Calibration (Rewards 200,000+ XP and 300 Bright Dust): Calibrate Kinetic, Energy, and Power weapons. Bonus progress against Champions.
- Elemental Splicing (Rewards 100,000 XP+, 150 Bright Dust, and the Plated Lupinus Shader): Complete strikes as each elemental subclass.
Week nine of Season of the Lost is one of the last weeks for new content until Bungie's 30th-anniversary event. The "30th Anniversary Pack" includes a new Dungeon, the Gjallarhorn Exotic Rocket Launcher, new weapons, armor, and more on Dec. 7, 2021. It will be available on all platforms that Destiny 2 can be played on.
Destiny 2 is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S, and Google Stadia platforms.
