One group of Minecraft players has been able to build a spectacular futuristic city that would not look out of place in a classic science fiction movie. The game has been constantly expanding since its launch almost a decade ago, with various creatures, game modes, locations, and items added in the intervening years. Now, with the advent of the Wild Update and its adorable new frogs, some players are asking for the developers to add cute Capybaras to Minecraft.
While players have been building new creations in Minecraft, developer Mojang has been adding new features, some of which have been chosen in part by the fans themselves. Earlier this week, it emerged that the winners of every Minecraft Live community vote have been colored blue in some way. An observant Redditor noticed this bizarre pattern following the recent Minecraft Live 2021 mob vote. This was a competition between the red Copper Golem, green Glare, and bright blue Allay, which was promptly won by Allay. The new creature joined other winners such as the teal Glow Squid, the indigo Phantom, and the Mountain biome, confirming that every Minecraft Live winner has been blue in color.
But while fans are waiting for the Wild update and their new blue ally, a group of friends has created an incredible-looking futuristic city in a Minecraft server. An image was posted to Reddit by user D3RPXD showing the map from a bird's eye view, showing off the sheer scope of the build. It's an impressive creation, looking like something from a sci-fi game or movie rather than the block building game. Comments from D3RPXD indicate that the server has been active for almost three years and this is the result of some 11 players working together. The giant purple tower at the center of the image even reaches the max height of the game. Meanwhile, the Redditor also explained the big pink section in the city that he personally built as he had an excess of pink wool.
Minecraft players have a long history of creating interesting and imaginative builds. The nature of the game means that it is perfect for those who want to express their creativity, as it allows almost limitless possibilities when it comes to building. It's little wonder, then, that players are able to replicate things like Big Ben from Civilization 6 in Minecraft with such accuracy.
The creativity of Minecraft players has been shown time and time again. The game is famous for the spectacular creations that its users have built using the in-game tools. Despite the fact that it is some 10 years old now, there doesn't seem to be any slowing down when it comes to new Minecraft builds, and this will likely continue far into the future.
Minecraft is available for all platforms.
