RHOBH: Fans Are Questioning Dorit Kemsley's Businesses

One issue that never seems to go away in the Bravo-verse is whether or not The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Dorit Kemsley's businesses are legitimate or not. During the first part of RHOBH season 11, Lisa Rinna even apologized for making comments about Dorit's businesses on an episode of Watch What Happens Live, going so far as to say she didn't have any to begin with.

Dorit does run Beverly Beach swimwear, as fans have seen on the show, and she also recently launched a bridal line, Nektaria. But she and PK, her husband, have had a lot of legal troubles. For instance, they've been embroiled in a lawsuit with Dorit's former Beverly Beach partner, Ryan Horne. Additionally, PK has had many a lawsuit against him and allegedly taken out loans he hasn't paid back. Dorit and PK also owe millions of dollars in tax debt. On the show itself, Camille Grammer even made claims that PK and Dorit were all but broke and that their entire lifestyle, businesses included, was a sham.

It's these accusations and leaked court docs about their finances that are causing fans to bring up the question of the legality and legitimacy of Dorit's businesses all over again. On Reddit, a user posted a question in a Real Housewives subreddit, "Beverly Beach hasn’t updated their insta since December of 2020, and I was in the bridal business for 12 years and never heard of Nektaria…. Are her fashion design pursuits legit and profitable, or are they just story line?" People had a lot to say about it. On the thread, one person accused Dorit's businesses of being a front to launder money (though where that money would be coming from is a whole different realm of speculation). Another person noted that there was some issue with the Nektaria designer as well, though there are no current court documents available, so that could just be speculation.

In any case, Dorit maintains that her and PK's finances and business dealings are all above water. After the Beverly Beach lawsuit was settled, she said she and PK stayed strong throughout: "PK and I are super tight. We’re super strong and most of it, it’s just really blown out of proportion.

When questioned during RHOBH season 10, Dorit also clarified that there was nothing funny about their money situation and that there wasn't anything shady about the fact that their family house was in her name and not PK's. She asked a producer during an interview, "I mean, is your house in both yours and your wife's name?" During the same episode, Dorit and her husband talked at length about their legal issues, with PK apologizing to his wife since much of the legal mess began before he even met her.

Still, no matter what, fans and even Dorit's fellow cast members will always raise their eyebrows at her businesses and question what's in her bank account. While they might seem shady to fans, both of her fashion brands have websites that are up and running, so they're at least legit in that regard.
