Deathstroke Holds One Weapon That Could Kill The Un-Killable Wolverine

Though Wolverine is famous for his ability to sustain untold damage, the DC assassin Deathstroke has one weapon in his arsenal that could take down Marvel's seemingly un-killable X-Man. Wolverine's healing factor allows him to survive the worst conditions imaginable. He is effectively immortal, having cheated both death and time. However, with just a single stroke, Slade Wilson aka Deathstroke the Terminator could put an end to him.

James "Logan" Howlett aka Wolverine is a mutant who has been alive for centuries due to his healing factor. This was seen in the miniseries Origin, written by Bill Jemas, Paul Jenkins, and Joe Quesada with art by Andy Kubert and Richard Isanove, which covered his early childhood in 19th-century Canada. However, his healing factor has allowed him to conquer more than just time. Wolverine has survived fighting the Hulk many times, a nuclear bomb in Venom #9 by Daniel Way and Paco Medina, numerous experiments during his time at Weapon X, and even having his head removed in Ultimate Wolverine vs. Hulk #5 by Damon Lindelof and Leinil Francis Yu. If he has survived all of that punishment, then what weapon could possibly kill the unstoppable Wolverine?

The God Killer sword is a blade that was forged by Hephaestus of the Greek pantheon for Deathstroke to kill a Greek Titan known as Lapetus. The blade first appeared in Deathstroke #7 written by Tony S. Daniel and James Bonny with art by Tony S. Daniel, and is definitely the most powerful weapon in Slade's arsenal. His foe was beyond him, immortal in nature, so Hephaestus had to forge a blade that would be able to kill the un-killable. The blade's main function is to kill immortals, but it has many wondrous additional abilities. These include shapeshifting, strengthening, and guiding the user's arm in combat, adapting to the opponent including the likes of gods, emitting powerful electric blasts, and the ability to absorb kinetic energy and double the amount in a counter attack. It is truly a weapon that can deal a "death stroke" to anyone in its path.

Due to its main function being the killing of immortals, the God Killer sword in the hands of Deathstroke would be able to slay Wolverine. Logan's healing factor has made him effectively immortal from age and most attacks, but this blade's magical function is to kill that which cannot be killed by any other means. Wolverine has lost his powers many times before in comics, as seen in Uncanny X-Men #205-207 written by Chris Claremont with art by Barry Windso-Smith and John Romita Jr., when he loses his abilities temporarily due to over-usage. So if the mutant gene can be suppressed through simple abuse, then a magical blade made by a god would be able to overcome it as well.

In the end, it seems that Wolverine might not be "the best at what he does" after all, at least when it comes to the DC Universe's most deadly assassin. Deathstroke doesn't always have the God Killer with him, but when he does it is clear that the un-killable Wolverine wouldn't survive the encounter.
