Kelly Clarkson has wonderfully recreated the iconic Ghostbusters theme live on her self-titled chat show. Although Clarkson is most renowned for her music career and her judging skills on The Voice, she's had several acting gigs over the years, lending her voice to the likes of Trolls World Tour and the Uglydolls movie. Despite celebrating the Halloween season with her latest live TV show performance, Clarkson has recently released a new Christmas album, where she's teamed up with her new fellow The Voice coach, Ariana Grande, for a festive duet.
While Clarkson's performance is perfectly seasonal, it also ties in nicely with the upcoming release of Ghostbusters: Afterlife. The latest film in the saga, which will ignore the events of the 2016 Ghostbusters movie, is directly connected to the original two films, as the grandkids of the late Egon Spengler come to terms with their heritage as descendants of one of the famous Ghostbusters. Joining Stranger Things' Finn Wolfhard and Mckenna Grace as the two Spengler successors is Paul Rudd as the childrens' teacher, Mr. Grooberson, as well as a plethora of returning stars to the series, including Bill Murray, Dan Akyroyd, and Ernie Hudson reprising their roles as the original Ghostbusters.

During the opening segment of The Kelly Clarkson Show, Clarkson took to the stage in full Ghostbusters get-up to sing a powerful version of Ray Parker Jr.'s classic theme song. As well as being accompanied by backing dancers, the star performed in front of a full-sized Ecto-1, while her band was dressed as classic Ghostbusters villains, such as Slimer and Gozer.
After the performance, Clarkson confirmed that the costume was no mere Halloween outfit, but an official Ghostbusters: Afterlife product, complete with a replica proton pack. The fun performance was rounded out by a quick appearance from the legendary Hudson, who went on to sit with Clarkson for a short interview to promote his new film. While no one could match the powerhouse performance of Parker JKelly Clarkson Ghostbusters Theme Song Performance Kellyoker.'s original theme, Clarkson does a fantastic job of executing a fun and lively take on one of the most recognizable movie themes of all time.
While Ghostbusters: Afterlife won't be seen by the general public until mid-November, early reviews have been mostly positive. The success of Ghostbusters: Afterlife could mean future entries in the franchise are a potential, something Hudson has said he's already heard rumors of. For now, Clarkson's performance will help remind the world that Ghostbusters is more than just a nostalgia-fuelled classic, but rather an iconic piece of cinema history.
