RHOSLC: All Cast Members' Reactions To Jen Shah's Arrest

Jaws dropped when The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Jen Shah’s arrest played out on television, and it's time to discuss the way that her castmates reacted to her money laundering and fraud charges. When the women (minus Mary Cosby and Meredith Marks) were in a limo bus in front of Heather Gay’s med-spa Beauty Lab + Laser, waiting to leave for Vail, Colorado, Jen received a call, supposedly from her husband. He appeared to tip her off that the authorities were looking for her. She made up an excuse to leave, telling the RHOSLC women that her husband was having internal bleeding and she needed to go to him. Soon after she left, the feds came looking for her, with weapons and handcuffs at the ready.

Jen's costars were all understandably confused as to why police officers (along with Homeland Security) were looking for Jen. Lisa Barlow tearfully called her husband John Barlow, and then her six lawyers, which led to the question of why Lisa felt she needed to protect herself legally. Later, Whitney Rose whispered to Heather when they were alone in the car, “Lisa’s acting guilty of something. She kept sayingsomeone tipped them off.’” However, when she was on the phone with her husband, Lisa whispered to him, “I think Meredith might know something.” The biggest question circulating within the group was whether somebody in the group tipped the feds off about Jen’s illegal activities. How did federal officials know exactly where to find her?

The one person that seemed unperturbed was the newcomer, Jennie Nguyen. Her lack of concern was understandable, given that she didn’t know Jen that well, but she seemed to have an almost cavalier attitude about it. She insisted on heading on to Vail and rummaged through the bag of snacks that Jen had brought on the trip. On their way, Whitney found articles online about Jen’s arrest, which led Lisa to cry and say, “I feel so bad for them.” Heather was “devastated,” while Jennie casually sipped on a bottle of beer.

Meredith also appeared suspiciously calm as she greeted the ladies at the house in Vail while soaking in a bubble bath. There is a lot of speculation regarding her alleged involvement in Jen’s arrest. Last season, Jen and Meredith’s son Brooks Marks had a nasty feud over social media, which they later squashed. All seemed fine with the two ladies, but when Andy Cohen asked Meredith (on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen) if she was the one who ratted Jen out, she coyly replied, “Don’t mess with my family.” Surprisingly, Mary seemed to have more compassion, despite her feud with Jen last season, over Mary saying that Jen’s aunt smelled like a “hospital.”

A few of the cast members had motives for turning Jen Shah in. Many of their reactions to Jen’s arrest were apt, but Lisa and Meredith’s reactions were a bit suspicious. Lisa’s reaction seemed a bit over the top, while Meredith looked smug. When first hearing the news from Lisa, she shrugged and said, “Honestly, I’m not surprised by this.” A teaser for next week’s episode shows Meredith telling the group that she had hired a private investigator. There’s no clue as to who she had investigated, but it won’t be a surprise to viewers if it turns out to be Jen Shah.
