Which Impeachment: American Crime Story Character Are You Based On Your Zodiac?

Impeachment: American Crime Story, like the other two series of Ryan Murphy’s hit show, is full of colorful and dynamic characters. Thus, though the series is ostensibly about power and the misuse of the legal system by cynical people, it is also very much about the clash of personalities, as those who are aligned with the conservative movement do everything in their power to bring down the President of the United States. And, unfortunately for Monica Lewinsky, she ends up caught in the crossfire, with her life rocked as a result.

Viewing these characters through the lens provided by the zodiac shows just what motivates them to do what they do.

Lucianne Goldberg, played by the formidable character actress Margo Martindale, is a textbook Aries type of character. She is driven and dynamic, the type of person who has earned her place as one of the most formidable literary agents working in New York.

Goldberg also has the Aries’ stereotypical lack of tact, and she’s not afraid to tell people, including Linda Tripp, exactly what she thinks they need to hear, regardless of whether she might be hurting their feelings.

When it comes to dependability and sturdiness, there are few signs that match the Taurus.

This makes Kenneth Starr a perfect fit for the bull sign, for while he may not be the most brilliant legal mind, he is indefatigable in his efforts to find something to bring down the Clintons. However, he also has that other trait for which Taureans are notorious: stubbornness. This leads him to make some fatal missteps in pursuing his vision of justice.

Colin Hanks is well-known for playing nice guys, and he brings that to bear in his portrayal of Mike Emmick, one of the men tasked with interrogating Monica Lewinsky.

However, like most Gemini, Emmick has two sides to his personality, and while one side is intent on getting the truth from her, the other is devoted to giving her the respect and compassion that she deserves. These two sides frequently come into conflict, and he doesn’t seem entirely able to resolve the contradiction.

Though most of the characters in this series are deeply cynical, that is not true of Paula Jones. She is very much cut in the mold of a traditional Cancer, for she is deeply sensitive and at times easily led by others. She tends to see the best in people and is often willing to let others take the lead.

At the same time, there are moments when she also shows the Cancer’ s ability to hit back when she feels threatened or is not being taken seriously.

There’s no denying that the Leo is one of the most charismatic and dynamic signs in the zodiac. There are few who can resist them when they turn on that charm.

If there’s one character in his series that embodies those traits, it’s President Bill Clinton, who knows that he can have whatever he wants, not only because he’s the most powerful man in the world, but also because her casts a spell on everyone he meets, whether that’s his wife Hillary or Monica Lewinsky. The fact that he's played by the talented and charming Clive Owen makes him all the more formidable.

Hillary Clinton is another of the characters who finds her life turned upside down by the revelations of her husband's affairs and his efforts to cover them up.

Clinton has many of the traits associated with Virgo, including a rational and methodical approach to life’s problems and to the vicissitudes of politics, and Edie Falco's stellar performance brings out these elements of her personality. She is also extremely loyal to those close to her, including Bill. At the same time, she also exhibits Virgo’s unforgiving and unforgiving nature. Once she is betrayed, it takes a long time to get back on her good side.

Lewinsky’s mother Marcia Lewis is another of the series’ more compassionate characters, and as soon as she learns about her daughter’s legal troubles she immediately starts to try to help her.

Marcia has a keen sense of justice, just like a Libra, and she will stop at nothing to ensure that her daughter gets the legal protection that she needs and isn’t made into a scapegoat by those who don’t have her best interests at heart.

Scorpios have a reputation for being one of the most sinister signs in the zodiac. That is certainly true of Linda Tripp, who is one of the series’ most calculating characters, and also one of Sarah Paulson's best.

Tripp doesn’t seem to especially like her life or many of the people in it, and while she does seem to have some genuine fondness for Lewinsky, she ultimately comes to see her as little more than a pawn in her plan to bring down the Clintons.

Sagittarius is one of the fire signs, and thus they are often quite driven, if also a bit quirky. Those traits are much in evidence with Matt Drudge, who believes that he has what it takes to inaugurate a new era of journalism, one less reliant on the old ways and more invested in the fast speed of the internet, gossip, and scandal.

It turns out, though, that his instincts are right, and that his Sagittarian skills come in handy as he publicizes the Clinton scandal.

Ann Coulter is one of the series’ minor characters, but she manages to make an impression every time that she appears onscreen.

She repeatedly shows that she has the traits of a Capricorn, most notably in her no-nonsense attitude toward politics and toward Clinton in particular. She has a mission — to bring him down and to disgrace the Democrats — and nothing is going to stand in the way of accomplishing that.

Aquarius is one of the more enigmatic and eccentric signs in the zodiac, and they tend to defy classification. They are, however, often very skilled at what they choose to take on.

These are excellent ways of describing Michael Isikoff, the journalist who first gets signs that there is something more to the Clinton affair than appears at first glance. He posseses an Aquarian’s strong instincts, even if he doesn't always have great follow-through.

Pisces have a reputation for being the most sensitive and emotional signs in the zodiac, and Monica Lewinsky is both very sensitive and very emotional.

She often lets her feelings about things — her relationship with Bill Clinton and her friendship with Linda — dictate her actions, rather than taking a more pragmatic approach. This makes her a very likable character, but it also leads her into the legal quagmire in which she finally finds herself.
