In episode 18, he meets a gut-wrenching demise. Dan-se (Kim Hyeon-jun) forces Sun-woo (Park Seo-joon) to spar with him. But something is off as he fights with vigor and intent. Han-sung realizes Sun-woo is in danger and gets in between him and Dan-se's sword. While he's slightly wounded, he seems to be dying much quicker. He realizes Dan-se used their grandfather's oil on the blade and learns Dan-se laced it with poison.
8 The Cheating Argument (Matrimonial Chaos)
Matrimonial Chaos detailed the struggle of love and relationships of couples in their thirties in an age where divorce is more common. It becomes the focal point for one marriage that will have fans feeling for Yoo-young (Lee El). In episode 16, Yoo-young finally cracks over her failing marriage. She knew all along that her husband was cheating on her.
The scene is impactful. Holding back tears, she tells him that when a husband is sleeping with another, the wife is always awake. She checks receipts, smells his clothes, and reads his texts. She tried to hold it in and started to hate herself more for becoming like her mother.

Fans can agree that Reply 1988 had many feeling "second lead syndrome" for Jung-hwan (Ryu Joon-yeol). He's often remembered by fans for his wish to be with his childhood friend but always being a second too late. He finally confesses his real feelings and it had fans tearing.
The scene flashbacks from his present confession to past scenes of them together. He explained how he always thought about her. When they were on the bus, the concert and how happy he was. But realizing he was always too late for "fate." In the end, he realized he had to give up his love for her.
5 Eun-tak's Mothers Death (Goblin)
Goblin was a hit show for a reason. It wasn't devoid of the emotional and sad scenes that had fans weeping throughout. There is one scene that's hard not to cry over. It involves Eun-tak (Han Seo-jin) as a young girl. The scene shows her and her mother on the beach talking about a cake for her birthday. It cuts to them at home lighting the candles.
While her mother says to blow them out, Eun-tak says she can't. She realizes it's not her real mother but her spirit. Eun-tak knows that her mother's dead and asks where she is. She was in an accident and gets a call from the hospital. She says already knows and is on her way. With tears, she puts on her red scarf, looks at the cake, and finally says she'll never make a wish.
4 The Letters (Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo)
Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo was a K-drama that didn't have the happily-ever-after ending people hoped for. It was chock-full of emotional scenes but one that got fans the most was Ha-jin's (Lee Ji-eun) death and Wang So (Lee Joon-gi) realizing the impact of her letters.
Ha-jin fell in love with Wang So and at some point in the show, they stopped communicating. But she continued to write him letters telling him how she really felt. In a tearful scene, she soon dies after childbirth. When the news gets to Wang So, he realizes what the letters were and reads them. He starts sobbing uncontrollably knowing he lost his love.
3 Grandma In Shopping Cart (My Mister)
My Mister is much more than a story of three brothers but that of Ji-an (IU) who struggles with her life. In the first episode, there's already a scene that had fans feeling emotional. She cares for her deaf grandmother and the scene shows her in a hospital room. The nurse says her granddaughter won't answer the phone, is behind on payments, and could be kicked out.
Ji-an is outside listening and decides to sneak her grandmother out from the hospital. Bed and all. She then puts her in a shopping cart and covers her with a duvet. Not many words are exchanged but fans can feel the emotion. Ji-an did this so that her grandmother can see the moon at night.
2 Se-ri's Close Call & Seung-jun's Death (Crash Landing On You)
Audiences went through quite a rollercoaster in episode 15 of the hit Netflix K-drama Crash Landing On You. The scene had some hearts going in a frenzy and teas running amok. Se-ri (Son Ye-jin) is in critical condition in the hospital. At the same time, Seung-jun (Kim Jung-hyun) goes to rescue Seo Dan (Seo Ji-hye) and gets injured in the process.
The scenes alternate between both their critical states. It had fans on the edge of their seats wondering who will survive. Se-ri is having flashbacks of what could have been if she never crashed. Seung-jun gives a monologue about fate and if one had to die then it should be him and asking what Seo Dan meant about liking Ramyeon. Fans sobbed over his death and Seo Dan losing her new love.
1 He's Not Coming Back (Descendants Of The Sun)
Descendants of the Sun was favored by fans for its love story in the military. Being in love with a soldier isn't easy and has its dark omens. In episode 15, the impactful love story comes to a devastating close; Shi-jin and Dae-young are dead due to a dangerous mission.
Mo-yeon (Song Hye‑kyo) is handed a letter, the last will and testament written by Shi-kin saying he's sorry for not keeping his promises. The scene also shifts between Myeong-joo (Kim Ji‑won) learning the truth as well. They meet at headquarters and Mo-yeon demands that Myeong-joon tell her it's a mistake, but they both break down realizing the harsh reality.
