How Long Does Hitman 2 Take To Beat?

Agent 47 is back in Hitman 2, and this time, he's bringing even more missions and assignments with him, so players will want to know how long it takes to beat. Although its name is Hitman 2, this title is actually the seventh game in the Hitman franchise.

Hitman 2 is a sequel to 2016's Hitman game and sees Agent 47's return to hunt down the "Shadow Client" and take down his army. This mission leads him to locations all over the world, where he gets assigned targets that he must kill. Stealth is vital in assassin work, and it is Agent 47's job to work as quietly and diligently as possible.

So how long does it take to play through all the missions and modes of Hitman 2? That depends on the player, but the game's full running time is similar to its predecessor: about 7 to 10 hours. That might not seem like a very long time, but players need to consider what the game entails and how playtime might vary.

In addition to two tutorial regions that teach the player how to handle Agent 47, Hitman 2 has six main missions: locales to visit with targets that Agent 47 needs to assassinate. The first mission has a small map of an area in New Zealand, but the rest of the missions feature larger regions that will take the player more time to get through. These areas include the very real cities of Miami and Mumbai, along with fictional locations in Vermont, Colombia, and an island in the Atlantic Ocean. Those who purchase Legacy or Upgrade Packs for the game also have access to six areas from the previous Hitman game.

Hitman 2 also features a separate sniper assassin map that adds another mode of gameplay. This map became available to those who preordered the title and takes Agent 47 to Austria. Sniper assassin mode, though is more than just sniping a target: players can also shoot at items within the environment for distraction and engage in challenges that allow them to level up and get access to better weapons and gear. The sniper assassin mode also offers an opportunity for online co-op play.

Although only one sniper assassin map is currently available, developer IO Interactive promises that it has plans to release more Hitman 2 sniper assassin maps in the future. Keeping that in mind, along with the fact that the levels of Hitman 2 are created for replayability, players could spend much more time than 10 hours in the game.
