BBCAN: Vanessa & Minh-Ly Realign After Their Allies Are Ejected

Following the double ejection of Kyle Rozendal and Jamar Lee during the previous week of Big Brother Canada, Vanessa Clements and Minh-Ly Nguyen-Cao had a private conversation in the backyard where they agreed to put the events of last week behind them.

Ahead of the Veto competition last week, viewers saw Sheldon, Kyle and Brooke ask Vanessa to throw the competition in order to prevent Minh-Ly from having the ability to use the Veto if the pair won. Despite being in an alliance with the other three, Vanessa felt compelled to tell Minh-Ly that only Brooke had asked her to throw the competition, information which Minh Ly then spread around the house, eventually getting back to the other three in Vanessa's alliance. The confusion and he-said-she-said was the driving force behind the tense house meeting that led to Jamar being ejected from the house, and which ultimately led to Kyle also being removed by producers. Following the meeting, Minh and Vanessa were not on great terms, but that seems to have changed now.

In a conversation not shown during tonight's episode (via Big Brother Canada), Minh Ly was "100 percent real" with Vanessa, admitting she wanted to go back to how they used to be. "I want people to think that we are not together," Minh told Vanessa, with the lobster fisherman replying in concern that she wouldn't want them "to act like we hate each other in the house." Minh suggested the pair simply act distant from one another, also revealing that Vanessa is her "favorite person in the house." The 26-year-old east-coaster shared in the flight attendant's sentiments, telling Minh-Ly "you are the person I relate to." The two women discussed how how it "takes a lot of energy for [Minh-Ly] to relate" to the other women, with both agreeing that Carol — who is on the block next to Minh-Ly — is maybe the only other woman they can both relate to.  Minh-Ly said it's "obvious that I am alone and you are alone" since Jamar was Minh's closest ally in the house and Vanessa was close with Kyle, so it seems natural the pair would try to work together again.

Last week Sheldon had the opportunity as HoH to backdoor Minh-Ly after Madison removed herself from the block and despite this being considered a "reset" week, Minh is still the main target for the professional wrestler. It's unclear whether or not Sheldon will actually be able to secure the votes necessary to evict Minh-Ly, and there's always the chance that she will win the Veto to remove herself from the block, in which case he has to be ready with a backup nomination. While it seems like there's a strong chance it'll be Minh walking out the door, she has a way of spinning things in her favor so it's not set in stone for Sheldon just yet.

If everything goes according to plan this week for Sheldon as HoH, the houseguests of Big Brother Canada season 8 should be able to make it through the week and make it through their second normal eviction. Based on Vanessa's behavior last time she was told a secret by an alliance member, it's not likely that she'll be able to stay loyal to Minh in the long term. Her loyalty will soon be tested if Minh ends up on the block on eviction night when Sheldon and Brooke are expecting her to vote Minh-Ly out, but when it comes to Big Brother you have to expect the unexpected, so who knows what could happen next.
