Before the 90 Days: Usman’s Mom Thinks Lisa Is Taking Him to U.S. to Be a Slave

Usman’s mom, from Before the 90 Days, thinks Lisa is taking him to the U.S. to be a slave. Usman accidentally let slip that his mother does not trust his future wife’s motives.

Lisa Hamme met Usman Umar when the rapper slid into her private messages on Facebook. The mother of one did not take the Nigerian’s advances seriously at first. The two would only talk via messaging. Their relationship moved on to texting and eventually FaceTime. The two soon became engaged, even though major red flags have been waved. Lisa is now looking forward to her trip to Nigeria to finally meet face to face.

On TLC’s sneak peek of this Sunday’s all-new episode, Lisa decided to confront Usman about him needing to be available to hang out with her every day once she arrives in his home country. Lisa addressed her worry regarding being able to gain Usman’s mother's acceptance. The aspiring celebrity laughed at his soon-to-be-fiancée saying that Lisa would have to bring gifts to win his mother’s affections, but he could not promise she would accept a white woman for her son’s future wife. Then, in a stunning slip of the tongue, Usman confessed that his mother is worried that Lisa is only going after Usman so she could bring him back to the United State to become her slave. Naturally, Lisa was appalled at the accusation, while Usman quickly tried to laugh off the comment, possibly not realizing how offensive the allegation was.

Lisa was already worried about Usman’s career as a singer because she did not like that he would always have a woman around him, believing he has too many adoring fans. All Lisa can concentrate on is the birds and the bees. She announced to her friend that she had been keeping a tight leash on her husband-to-be and would reward him with unprotected sex. Lisa’s close friends believe that she is only being used for a green card so he can become famous in the U.S. music industry. Lisa’s cyberstalking looks as if it could be the possible downfall of their relationship as she constantly was seen yelling at Usman in the first two episodes.

For many TLC fans, the lovers read more like the odd couple. Not only is there a lack of trust, but Lisa’s controlling ways are sure to cause arguments between the pair; this will especially be the case when she lands in Nigeria, where the man is supposed to be the head of the household.
