Before Hannah Brown was chosen as the lead for season 15 of The Bachelorette, a number of names were tossed around to be chosen as leading lady including Tayshia Adams. She wasn't chosen for that season, but she should be chosen as the lead for the 16th season.
Tayshia first appeared on Colton Underwood's season of The Bachelor in 2019. She was eliminated during week 9 of the season alongside Hannah Godwin, following the fence jump fiasco and Colton deciding Cassie Randolph was the woman for him after she tried to quit the show. Following Colton's season, the 29-year-old phlebotomist appeared on season six of Bachelor in Paradise. While in Mexico, Tayshia began a relationship with Bachelor Nation goofball John Paul Jones. The couple broke up at the end of the season but were reunited once they were back in the U.S. and dated until October 2019. Tayshia was a fan favorite to be chosen for The Bachelorette after her first season, and that doesn't seem to have changed, so why would she make such a good lead?
For starters, Tayshia seems to be universally liked. Any time her name is brought up during an interview or during her seasons, fellow contestants and Bachelor Nation alum never have a bad word to say about her. Fans fell for Tayshia because she comes across as such as a kind, caring person and based on the rave reviews, that's not an act for the camera; she really is that nice. Unsurprisingly, Tayshia typically managed to stay out of any drama or fighting that went on amongst contestants around her, a skill that would serve her well if she were the lead. Her ability to focus on why she's really there and wade through the drama would be a big advantage when trying to date 30 men at once.
A fact you might not remember about Tayshia is that prior to her time on The Bachelor, she had been married and is now divorced, which we see as a positive. She understands what it means to commit yourself to someone fully, but can also acknowledge when a relationship isn't working or isn't benefitting both the people involved. Also, knowing what you don't want in a relationship is just as important as knowing what you do want, so having a major relationship that didn't work out in the long run can be viewed as a benefit. If you think back to Tayshia's time on Colton's season, you'll remember how important her family is to her and how close she is with her parents and her brother. She has the proper support system from her friends and family to find love while being able to stay grounded.
The question that comes to mind when thinking about Tayshia Adams as The Bachelorette is would this be something she's even interested in? That's not a concern in this case though, as Tayshia reportedly initially auditioned to be the lead of the show, and has said before that she would be open to the opportunity if it were offered to her. Tayshia seems like a strong choice in terms of fan approval for being The Bachelorette but if she's not chosen, we hope she makes an appearance on Bachelor in Paradise this summer, or even shows off her swimming skills on The Bachelor: Summer Games 2020!
