Two Couples You Didn’t See on Love is Blind Also Got Engaged

Netflix's reality series Love is Blind has taken playing cupid unto another level with its experimental style of pairing couples. For the past few weeks viewers have been captivated by the love lives of six couples that were shown getting engaged, sight unseen. As if six couples becoming engaged without seeing each other wasn't peculiar enough, it's been announced that two other couples got engaged but weren't featured.

After making a connection, through conversation in isolated pods, couples had the option to propose to their chosen partner. Producers of the hit reality series chose to follow the journeys of couples Cameron Hamilton and Lauren Speed, Amber Pike and Matt Barnett, Damian Powers and Giannina Gibelli, Jessica Batten and Mark Cuevas, Carlton Morton and Diamond Jack and Kelly Chase and Kenny Barnes. Upon their engagements, as a way to help the newly engaged couples get to know each other better, they were then treated to a romantic getaway to Mexico. Unfortunately, all the engaged couples didn't get to continue on to the next step in the experiment. The two couples left behind were Danielle Drouin and Rory Newbrough, and Lexie Skipper and Westley Baer.

The eight engagements seem to have came as a surprise to the producers as they only expected one or two engagements and were only prepared for the filming of five (via People). Due to the lack of resources, the two couples received their phones back and were sent home. Despite not being chosen to have their stories filmed the couples still tried their go at love. Thirty-year-old Rory, who was typically shown on screen providing advice to his cast-mates, and model Danielle took a trip of their own to Miami. Unfortunately, when they arrived back to Atlanta the two split because Danielle had unresolved feelings for someone else she met in the pods, Matt Thomas. Rory remained single while Danielle went on to explore a relationship with Brawl for a Cause director Matt. Sadly, that relationship didn't workout for the model either.

Meanwhile, Westley, who is known for openly revealing his height on the show, had an instant connection with personal stylist Lexie. After the pods the couple dated for three months but broke up because Westley made a career change where he sold everything he owned and moved to Asia. Thankfully, their connection doesn't end there. Although the two are not together officially, they now both live in New York, a few apartment buildings away from each other. Westley also shared they talk regularly and have hung out as recent as this year's Super Bowl.

Fan speculation about the featured couples status' have been answered in the recent airing of the Love is Blind reunion. Out of eight engaged couples, six journeys were shown and two ended in marriage. The two couples that weren't featured may have not made it to the alter but they did help prove love can be blind. Though we know the results of the featured six, it's hard to not wonder what would have happened if the couples left behind continued their relationship under the constraints of the experiment. Maybe they needed to be around others experiencing the same thing? Maybe they needed the added pressure of cameras following them around and capturing their unfiltered emotions? Or maybe the disappointment from being cut from the Mexico trip was unbearable? It's all left to personal speculation. Hopefully, after seeing the success of season one, Netflix and the producers will plan for more couples to say I do as fans are demanding a Love is Blind season 2.
