Scranton's got style. While it's no secret that every character in The Office had a quirky personality, you might not have noticed that they each represented themselves through their individual fashion choices. Some characters wore subdued colors and boring suits, while others mixed it up with bold patterns and signature pieces. These styles represented shifts in their personality, job promotions, and more.
We're here to look at the best dressers at Dunder Mifflin Scranton and see how they stack up. It's worth noting that we'll only be looking at the show's major characters and ignoring any who weren't active for more than one season. It's time to get a good look at the employees of Dunder Mifflin. Here are how they rank in terms of their fashion choices.
10 Dwight
While Dwight might not be the first character you think of when considering The Office's fashion icons, the assistant to the regional manager actually had a lot going for him.
Dwight was no model, but he did have a consistent look that only he could pull off. His wardrobe consisted of collared shirts in varying shades of yellow, brown and gray suits, and patterned ties. Of course, we can't ignore those big wire-rimmed glasses, which tied it all together.
9 Angela
Toward the beginning of The Office, Angela's style leaned conservative. She wore muted colors and high-necked tops. However, in later seasons, she opted for trendier tops, cardigans, and jackets.
A shift in style can also be noted in the way Angela wore her hair. While, at first, she kept it pulled back with a ponytail or headband, she started wearing it down as her personality loosened up.
8 Jan
Jan's style went downhill fast after she got back together with Micahel, featuring pieces that showed her cleavage a little too obviously. However, before her giant shift in character, she was a put-together businesswoman and her fashion sense reflected this.
Near the beginning of the series, Jan's hair was nicely curled back. Her eyebrows were defined, her lips sported a soft shade of pink, and her cheeks were slightly blushed. She tended to wear classy suits that suggested an air of superiority.
7 Michael Scott
Yes, there was that one time Michael a woman's suit, but he was usually a strong dresser. While season 1 Michael had greasy, slicked-back hair and shirts that were too tight, season 2 Michael was a new man.
He frequently wore white or light-colored dress shirts, dark patterned ties, and matching suits. Michael's style was simple and snazzy.
6 Jim
Though Jim didn't have a particularly unique style, he did know how to look clean-cut.
Jim's office wardrobe consisted primarily of business casual and professional attire, including suits, slacks, and dress shirts. He frequently sported shades of blue and gray and usually wore pieces that were either solid or had a simple pattern.
5 Pam
Pam goes through a huge transition during The Office. In Season 1, she wore muted pinks, whites, and blues. She wore cardigans over button-up shirts and pulled her hair back into a subdued style.
In later seasons, however, Pam decided to ditch her basic ensembles for bolder colors, blazers, and heat-styled hair. Though it took her a little while to get there, Pam figured out how to wear pieces that were chic and bold.
4 Andy
While Andy usually dressed professionally like Jim, he added a lot more flair to his fashion choices. Andy's style was preppy and often included sweater vests, bow ties, and khaki pants or slacks and suit coats.
The colors he wore were also varied, featuring blues, reds, greens, yellows, whites, blacks, and browns. He knew how to have fun with his wardrobe.
3 Ryan
Ryan went through a load of character development and an accompanying heap of fashion changes. Though that whole bleached hair phase wasn't his strong point, he had many other style successes.
Early Ryan wore dress shirts in shades of white, gray, and blue, often accompanying them with blazers and ties. After Ryan got promoted to VP, he came back to Scranton with cool facial hair and a $200 haircut. Even later, he took on a hipster persona and could be seen wearing flannels, scarves, and dark-rimmed glasses.
2 Kelly
Kelly liked to be the center of attention and her look reflected this. The customer service rep could be seen wearing vivid jewel-toned colors throughout the series. While sometimes her hair was cropped and straightened at her shoulder, other times she left it long and curled.
Kelly paired her outfits with matching jewelry, polished nails, and dark shades of lipstick. Fun patterns and sparkles also frequently worked their way into her wardrobe.
1 Erin
While style can be subjective, Erin seemed to have the strongest fashion sense of the bunch. Erin frequently wore nice skirts and dressy tops. She sported a variety of colors, from deep earth tones to bright pastels.
She also tastefully accented with patterns, keeping her long hair looking sleek and wearing soft makeup. Her outward look expressed her sweet, bubbly personality.
