Which Horror Movie Final Girl Are You Based On Your Zodiac Sign?

Since the late '70s and early 80's, the majority of horror films have adopted somewhat of a formula for making a successful movie in the genre. The most memorable and fan-favorite horror films always seem to have what has become known as the "final girl."

The girl who survives the night of torture at the hands of crazed murderers wielding chainsaws and butcher knives has become the reason fans flock to see these films. There are also a number of notable actors who have at one point been deemed a "final girl" and have gone on to have great careers in other genres as well.

12 Aquarius: Ellen Ripley (Alien)

Ellen Ripley from the Alien franchise goes against the "final girl" stereotype in a lot of ways but is still considered one of the best final girls of all time, which definitely makes her an Aquarius. People with this sign are known to be independent and progressive.

Ellen Ripley is in a male-dominated world, but is never defined by her relationship to any man and fights better than most of her male cohorts. Ellen breaks the female protagonist mold in the horror genre, making her quite progressive.

11 Pisces: Nancy Thompson (A Nightmare On Elm Street)

Nancy Thompson from A Nightmare on Elm Street is the quintessential "final girl". Nancy is shy, timid, and hardly looks like she'd be able to fight against the things that go bump in the night, but she surprises everyone when she is able to survive the nightmare that is Freddy Krueger.

Pisces are known to be compassionate and gentle but also intuitive, and it is these characteristics that help Nancy survive throughout this horror franchise.

10 Aries: Julie James (I Know What You Did Last Summer)

One of the best traits for an Aries is their honesty, something Julie James from I Know What You Did Last Summer clearly values. Julie is the one in her friend group who suggests going to the police after they accidentally hit and kill a man on the Fourth of July.

Julie stays true to her beliefs even a year later when she and her friends are attacked by a fisherman seeking revenge. Aries are also known for their courageous nature and ability to fight back in the face of adversity and danger, which Julie does multiple times in this slasher franchise.

9 Taurus: Laurie Strode (Halloween)

Reliable, patient, practical, and devoted are just a few of the positive attributes in a Taurus, and Laurie Strode is all of those things. In the Halloween franchise, Laurie is the one everyone learns to rely on when her brother, Michael, comes out to hunt on Halloween night.

Whether it be the franchise's first film or the most recent tenth entry, Laurie is devoted to taking down her brother and does so by waiting patiently for his return and having a practical plan in place.

8 Gemini: Sidney Prescott (Scream)

Geminis are known to be adaptable and are frequently seen as having two-sides since this sign has been deemed "the twins." Sidney from the Scream franchise exhibits all of the best and worst qualities of a Gemini.

Initially, Sidney seems gentle and curious, but in the face of danger, she adapts quickly and learns how to survive. Geminis are also known to love long conversations, a trait which doesn't help Sidney much in these films.

7 Cancer: Sally Hardesty (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre)

Cancer signs love home-based hobbies, but not the kind Sally Hardesty finds herself running from in the original The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Cancers are tenacious, sympathetic, and emotional, as is Sally as she fights for her life against Leatherface and his family.

After surviving a night of hell, Sally finds herself screaming and covered in blood in the bed of a pickup truck. It's later revealed that Sally went into a catatonic state after being the only survivor that day.

6 Leo: Alice Hardy (Friday The 13th)

Leos are known for their artistic and creative nature, so the fact that Alice Hardy, a camp counselor at Camp Crystal Lake, is also studying art in college is no coincidence.

Leos are also known to be a bit self-centered, which Alice shows she is when she is fighting for her life during the first Friday the 13th. Alice fights Mrs. Voorhees to the death and comes out victorious after using whatever she can to defend herself, like a fire poker and a frying pan, once again showing her creative Leo characteristics.

5 Virgo: Gale Weathers (Scream)

Gale Weathers is a hardworking, quick-thinking, very intelligent news reporter in the Scream franchise, which clearly makes her a Virgo. Gale is all work and no play, which comes in handy when she has to fight for her life.

Virgos don't like asking for help, but Gale eventually manages to swallow her Virgo pride a little and she and Sidney help each other survive the attacks from the knife-wielding psycho on a murder spree.

4 Libra: Dana Polk (The Cabin in the Woods)

Dana Polk is a character created to flip the "final girl" formula on its head in the film The Cabin in the Woods. This film, written by Joss Whedon and Drew Goddard, introduces all of the essential stereotypes in a horror film, and then quickly eviscerates them to give viewers a shocking surprise.

In the end, Dana shows her true Libra nature in that she is cooperative, plays by the rules, and is diplomatic when it comes to her own survival.

3 Scorpio: Jess Bradford (Black Christmas)

Scorpios are known to be great friends who will do anything for the people they love, which sums up Jess Bradford in Black Christmas pretty well. When a serial killer stalks and murders Jess' sorority sisters, she uses her level-headedness to live and fight for her friends' lives as well.

Scorpios aren't the type to shy away from violence and Jess luckily has a lot of that fight in her.

2 Sagittarius: Clear Rivers (Final Destination)

Sagittarians are prone to saying exactly what they think and don't have much of a filter for their thoughts, which makes Clear Rivers in Final Destination a stereotypical example. Clear is a bit of a loner and an outcast because her fellow classmates find her direct demeanor a little off-putting.

Sagittarius signs also like to travel, which obviously, Clear does too since when audiences first meet her, she is boarding and then quickly un-boarding a flight to Paris for a school trip.

1 Capricorn: Erin Harson

Erin Harson in You're Next is a fighter. Erin was raised in a survivalist compound by a paranoid father, so she possesses all the tools and smarts she needs to survive the crazy killers she meets when she goes home with her boyfriend to meet his family.

Like most Capricorns, Erin is responsible, disciplined, and always seems to be expecting the worst. She is also always prepared for the worst when it gets to her.
