Braunwyn Windham-Burke from The Real Housewives of Orange County recently discovered that fellow cast mates Emily Simpson and Kelly Dodd have unfollowed her on Instagram. She believes it is due to their opposite political views.
The reality star joined the show last year for season 14 as a full time cast member. She was often judged by her costars for her unconventional marriage with her husband, Sean, and her sexuality. Braunwyn was always seen as different from the other women on the cast, as most of them are conservative personally and in their political beliefs.
According to Cheat Sheet, Braunwyn was recently a guest on the podcast Getting Real with The Real Housewives, where she discussed why she thinks Kelly and Emily unfollowed her on social media. “I don’t know why [they unfollowed me], but that’s weird,” she recalled. “I have a guess. Emily [Simpson] and Kelly [Dodd] are both very conservative. They’re both Trump supporters [and] I am very vocal on my Instagram about what my beliefs are and I understand that a lot of people don’t like that.” Braunwyn has been very vocal on her social media about her support for Joe Biden as president and Kamala Harris as his vice president. She has also spoken out against police brutality, especially after the murder of George Floyd. The mother of seven seems to think that her fellow co stars are against her more liberal political beliefs and do not agree with her being so open about it. When Braunwyn discovered Kelly and Emily had unfollowed her, she was surprised, as she thought she left filming on good terms with the whole cast. According to Emily, this is far from the truth.
Emily unfollowed Braunwyn shorty after the cast had completed filming for season 15. She was recently asked by Entertainment Tonight why she unfollowed her cast mate. “Each one of us kind of unfollowed her for different reasons, and on our own terms," the mother of three told the publication. Emily added that she did not like the way Braunwyn had acted this season. “It was the last time that we were allowed, all six of us, to be together and I just I didn’t particularly like the way she acted and the way things went down,” Emily added. “I didn’t block her or anything. I just unfollowed and, you know, there’s a lot of things that need to be resolved with her.” Emily revealed that she finds Braunwyn to be inauthentic and has factual arguments behind her thoughts. When it is time, Emily is willing and ready to explain herself and why she no longer feels Braunwyn is a friend.
Hopefully Kelly and Emily will be able to explain why they unfollowed Braunwyn at the RHOC reunion.
