How Old Bo-Katan Is In The Mandalorian Season 2 | Screen Rant

Considering how much time has passed since the Clone Wars, there's some confusion over how old Bo-Katan Kryze really is in The Mandalorian season 2. Bo-Katan is one of three known members of Clan Kryze - the other two being her sister Satine, the former Duchess of Mandalore, and their nephew, Korkie Kryze, whose whereabouts have been a mystery since he last appeared in the Clone Wars animated series. Unfortunately, since Satine was killed by Maul and Korkie has been missing, Bo-Katan believes that she's the last of her line.

In The Mandalorian season 2, episode 3, "The Heiress", Bo-Katan appeared in live-action for the first time (played by Katee Sackhoff) with a member of her Nite Owls, along with what appeared to be a former Death Watch member as well; the trio showed up suddenly and saved Din Djarin from a group of Quarren on Trask. It made sense to have Sackhoff portray Bo-Katan in The Mandalorian since she voiced the character in Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels and has experience in live-action acting. But because she's only 40 years old, fans have questioned how old Bo-Katan actually is.

Unlike most major characters in Star Wars, Bo-Katan's birth year has never been mentioned - in canon or Legends - and neither has her sister's. But since Satine and Obi-Wan Kenobi shared a past together, it stands to reason Satine was comparable in age to Obi-Wan, while Bo-Katan was a bit younger, though not too much younger. She was still much more mature than Ahsoka Tano, who was just a teenager. And so, taking all the factors into account, including that 28 years have passed since the Siege of Mandalore, Bo-Katan should be in her mid-to-late 40s.

The Clone Wars ended in 19 BBY and The Mandalorian takes place in 9-10 ABY, approximately three decades later. If Bo-Katan was the same age as Ahsoka in Clone Wars, then that would mean she's 45 years old in The Mandalorian. However, that's a bit unlikely even with the notion that Mandalorians are trained at a younger age and mature quicker because of that. Bo-Katan was presumably around 20 years old (if not a bit older) in Clone Wars, which could make her as old as 50. Seeing how fast she moves in The Mandalorian season 2 and how aggressively she still fights stormtroopers, it's clear she hasn't lost any of her skill over the years.

Regardless of her actual age, though, Bo-Katan's experience makes Din Djarin look like a child - and, in fact, he was when Death Watch saved him in the Clone Wars. Bo-Katan has sided with and against Maul; she fought alongside Ahsoka and the Republic in the Siege of Mandalore; she wielded the Darksaber and temporarily became the new Mandalore during the Age of the Empire; and now, she and her Nite Owls are taking the fight to Moff Gideon in The Mandalorian season 2.
