Star Wars fan art makes a good case about an Ahsoka Tano spinoff show. Not long after the former Jedi made her live-action debut on the latest episode of The Mandalorian, interest in the character is at an all-time high with the public already looking forward to when she'll pop up on the screen again.
Debuting in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated film which was set between Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones and Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, Ahsoka was introduced as Anakin Skywalker's padawan. She never appeared in a live-action film, but her personal journey was fleshed out in the subsequent The Clone Wars animated series followed by another appearance in Star Wars Rebels where she took on the mantle of Fulcrum. After years of existing in the animated pocket of Star Wars, she's finally made the jump to live-action with the character played by Rosario Dawson encountering Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and Baby Yoda in The Mandalorian season 2, episode 5 titled "Chapter 13: The Jedi."
Reception towards her latest Star Wars appearance has generally been positive, with the public looking forward to her future in the franchise. Artist Tim Daniel took the liberty to imagine Ahsoka spearheading her own show on Disney+ which would also feature Grand Admiral Thrawn and Lando Calrissian through a proposed poster. Check out the illustration below:
The Mandalorian capped off Ahsoka's episode with her refusing to train Baby Yoda, but she more than likely has a future onscreen in some project. "The Jedi" weirdly feels like a backdoor pilot for her own project with the reveal that she's currently in the middle of hunting down Grand Admiral Thrawn who was last seen jumping to hyperspace to an unknown destination with Ezra Bridger. It wasn't clear if Ahsoka was tracking down Thrawn as part of her crusade to locate Ezra or if this is something separate entirely. Whatever the case may be, it sounds like a good jumping point for a new Star Wars offshoot featuring her.
While there is currently no concrete indication that Lucasfilm and Disney are working towards an Ahsoka Tano project for Disney+, there were rumors before she even debuted in The Mandalorian that they are developing a show for her. Word had it that the narrative will be set after the events of Rebels which makes sense, and will feature Hera, Zeb, as well as, the Ghost crew's droid, Chopper. As Star Wars continues to thrive on Disney+, this idea may actually work. Now, not only fans of The Clone Wars and Rebels are curious about what lies ahead for Ahsoka, but the casual viewers who happen to enjoy The Mandalorian as well. It would be a totally missed opportunity if Lucasfilm does not take advantage of the current interest on the character.
