The Voice: Everything To Know About Bailey Rae From Team Legend

After Team Legend’s Bailey Rae was saved by The Voice fans across the nation, her followers have been interested in learning more about the country singer. Bailey originally delighted the coaches during the blind auditions. While singing Lee Ann Womack’s “Does My Ring Burn Your Finger,” caught the ear of coach John Legend. The usual coach to choose country singers, Blake Shelton, had a full team, so he was unable to turn his chair. But that didn’t stop him from making a case for his team in the future just in case her time with Team Legend went downhill.

During the Battle round, Bailey went up against Sid Kingsley with a performance of Chris Stapleton’s “Tennessee Whiskey.” John declared Bailey the winner, but her opponent was stolen by coach Kelly Clarkson. Knockout week found Bailey singing against Lauren Frihauf. Bailey performed Billy Currington’s “Let Me Down Easy,” while Lauren sang Janis Joplin’s “Cry Baby.” After the performances, coach Gwen Stefani told Bailey she was “obsessed” with her. Blake said it “was a dirty joke by The Voice gods” that Bailey ended up on Team Legend instead of his. Of course, Bailey won that round too.

During the live playoffs, Bailey sang Kenny Rogers’ “Sweet Music Man.” Although she didn’t initially make it into the top nine, she won the wildcard instant save after competing against Team Kelly’s Tanner Gomes, Team Gwen’s Payge Turner and Team Blake’s Worth the Wait. This means she’s part of the top nine and will be in the upcoming live show. But who is Bailey? According to Talent Recap, Bailey hails from Roberta, Oklahoma, which is a short distance from where Blake and Gwen live. She’s also performed at Blake’s bar, Ole Red. Although she has so many connections to Blake, she’s the first country singer to ever be a part of Team Legend.

The 18-year-old has already won tons of accolades for her voice. She won Freedom Fest Idol, the Oklahoma Cattleman’s Association National Anthem Contest, the Dogwood Jamboree Talent Search and the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame’s annual showcase. A member of both the Country Music Singers Association of Oklahoma and the Texas Country Music Association, Bailey teaches guitar, ukulele, and vocals at a Shawnda Rains Studio.

Earlier this year, Bailey released her first single “Never Been This Lonely.” Since its release, she’s been nominated for Texas Country Music Association 2020 Songwriter of the Year and Josie Music Awards 2020 Contemporary Country Song of the Year. A few months later, Bailey released her second single, “I’m in Love.”

With such an impressive resume, it’s clear Bailey is going to go far.
