Disney Reveals Opening Date For Ratatouille Ride At Epcot

Disney World officially announced an opening date for Epcot's Ratatouille ride. The 2007 Pixar film follows Remy the rat (Patton Oswald) on his quest to become a chef at the famous Paris restaurant, Gusteau's. The talented rodent forms an alliance with the restaurant's garbage boy, Alfredo Linguini (Lou Romano), and guides him through cooking recipes. Ratatouille was a box office hit upon release, earning critical acclaim and even winning the Oscar for Best Animated Feature that year.

To fans' delight, Disney announced that Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure will debut in the newly expanded French pavilion at Epcot on October 1, 2021. It will be a part of a special season for the theme park as they mark their 50th Anniversary Celebration. A new restaurant called La Crêperie de Paris will open its doors simultaneously, bringing table and fast food service from celebrity chef Jérôme Bocuse.

The highly anticipated date reveal was accompanied by a pair of photos teasing both the exterior and interior of the ride. Disney aficionados had already been treated to a fairly in depth video look at the adventure in November of 2020. Disney first announced the US Ratatouille attraction back in 2017. Prior to then, fans of the culinary rat had to head to Disneyland Paris to get their fix on the Ratatouille: L'Aventure Totalement Toquée de Rémy ride.

From the looks of things, the American attraction will be a similar adventure to its Parisian predecessor. Riders will sit in cars that resemble rats, putting them in Remy's perspective as they roll through the film's storyline. Ratatouille has been especially trendy as of late with TikTok's Ratatouille the Musical taking the world by storm. Fans will no doubt be delighted to fully immerse themselves in the story.
