Schitt's Creek: Stevie's 5 Best Pieces Of Advice (& Her 5 Worst)

When the Rose family arrives in their new town in Schitt's Creek, one of the first people they meet is motel employee Stevie Budd. Very quickly, Stevie becomes one of the main characters in the show and she has her own fascinating journey throughout the series.

Stevie is a very closely guarded person who prefers to keep things bottled up. But she is also a good friend who is great at delivering honest feedback to those close to her and tell them exactly what they need to hear. Of course, her blunt and socially awkward communication style means her advice isn't always helpful.

10 Best: David's Job Interview

Though David was getting used to his life of not doing any real work, he gets an offer for a retail job interview that is too good to pass up. He gets Stevie to reluctantly drive him to the meeting in Elmdale, only for him to change his mind when he sees the store.

Stevie is very good at calling David out when he is being stuck up about his new community, and this is one of those positions. She very firmly tells him she did not drive him all the way out there just for him to back out. She pushes him to go and he gets the job.

9 Worst: Spa Getaway

Stevie is very happy when David starts dating Patrick and seems to have found happiness, so it distresses her when their romance hits a rough patch. After David discovers that Patrick was engaged a short while ago, David starts questioning things.

Stevie attempts to help David get his mind off of things by bringing him along to a spa getaway she planned. While the gesture is nice, she accidentally books the honeymoon package which doesn't help David to cope with his troubled relationship.

8 Best: Create Your Own Headline

Though Stevie and Moira have very little in common, they share a number of memorable moments together and make a fun, unlikely pair. When the internet proclaims that Moira is dead, she enlists Stevie's help to capitalize on the media moment.

However, when camera crews show up at the motel looking to interview Moira, she becomes self-conscious about how it will look. Despite not knowing much about show business, Stevie convinces Moira that this is a great opportunity to tell her story and make her own headline rather than having someone else do it.

7 Worst: Relationship Advice

When David is away for the day, Alexis seeks out Stevie to ask her advice about boy trouble. Unfortunately for both of them, Stevie isn't great with that kind of "girl talk."

Alexis asks Stevie for her opinion on a mysterious text Alexis received from Ted. Stevie is very dismissive of it and quickly squashes Alexis's excitement. Stevie did warn Alexis she isn't great at this sort of thing, but she could have put in a little more effort.

6 Best: Franchising

In the early days of the show, Stevie seems like a very reluctant employee of the motel and doesn't want any more responsibilities. However, Stevie grows a lot as the series goes on and eventually becomes a co-owner along with Johnny.

After Johnny is met with a major business setback, Stevie comes up with a bold idea. She proposes that they start franchising the Rosebud Motel concept across various roadside motels to create a nation-wide business.

5 Worst: Turkey Shoot

Despite being very good friends, Stevie and David can be very different people. When David is still trying to fit in the new town, Stevie half-jokingly invites him along on a hunting trip even though she knows he will hate it.

Stevie allows David to convince himself to join the hunting party, even giving him a gun he has no idea how to use. He ends up shooting a turkey in the neck, which is a pretty disturbing moment for him.

4 Best: David Should Date Patrick

While David wears impressive clothing and has a big personality, he is a very insecure man. Luckily, he has a friend like Stevie to help him get outside of his head and see the good things that are around him.

During a birthday dinner for David, Stevie starts to suspect that David's new business partner, Patrick, might have meant this to be a date with David. Though David is reluctant to see it that way, Stevie helps him realize that Patrick is interested in him, which starts their charming romance together.

3 Worst: Johnny's Work Ethic

Johnny is a very determined man, but when he starts taking on every odd job around the motel, Stevie starts to gets worried. She suggests to him that he is working so hard because he misses Moira, who is away shooting a movie.

As it turns out, Stevie is right in her assumption, but why does that matter? Johnny misses his wife and wants to distract himself by focusing on work. That seems like a healthy and helpful way of keeping his mind off his loneliness.

2 Best: Staying In Schitt's Creek

Ever since arriving in Schitt's Creek, David and his family have been searching for a way to escape it and return to their old lives. As the finale draws closer, that opportunity presents itself and David begins thinking about his life with Patrick in New York City.

Though Patrick is hesitant to leave, he agrees to go if that is what David wants. It is Stevie who makes David realize his life in New York was lonelier than he remembers and that he has found true happiness in Schitt's Creek.

1 Worst: The Throuple

There have been a number of relationships in the show, but none of them created as much embarrassment as when David and Stevie find themselves dating the same guy. While each of them initially thinks Jake is solely dating them, Jake is more open-minded about the concept of dating.

But when Stevie thinks Jake is going to break up with David, she tries to convince David to end things first. While that seems like good advice, it appears less generous when it becomes clear Stevie is planning on continuing to date Jake afterward.
