The women of Atlanta banded together on tonight’s episode to support one another in their journey to become mothers. During Porsha Williams’ charity event for March of Dimes, fans dove deeper into the women’s backstories with most of the famous starts sharing some deep secrets. Williams revealed that six years ago she had suffered from a miscarriage while she was home alone and felt ashamed. The Bravo personality addressed that she had not spoken about her loss often as it was too painful. While Marlo Hampton teared up as she explained that she had not one but two ectopic pregnancies but was now blessed to have her two nephews by her side. Kenya Moore shared that when she was in labor with her daughter Brooklyn, she almost died of preeclampsia as the doctors could not control the bleeding.

Fans were moved by the honesty of all the women and the common ground they found as fertility and child-rearing is still a taboo subject. The charity event was to show that just because a woman is a woman, does not mean that she can automatically produce a child. There are still struggles with regard to childbirth in the United States as a large amount of African American women still die while giving birth. The women, even those who do not usually see eye to eye, were all in agreement that these tragedies were survivable.

Most of the peaches agreed that the event was cathartic and helped release unwanted stress. The positive message was that a woman should not be made to feel shameful if she can not have her own children. This idea resonated with many viewers as there are untold struggles when it comes to starting to plan your family. The rest of the episode showed Kandi Burruss struggling to balance her family and work life while Moore moving forward with the process of her divorce.
