RHOP: How Wendy Osefo’s Family Drama Led To A Cease-And-Desist Order

Wendy Osefo recently explained her side of her family drama on The Real Housewives of Potomac. Her tension with her in-laws was evident when her husband's family opted out of coming to the couple's sip-and-see party for their baby girl, Kamryn.

In an episode that aired last month, Wendy and Eddie Osefo shared their love story while the group spent time together at Monique Samuels' lakehouse. The couple revealed how they were a modern-day Romeo and Juliet due to their feuding families. The two met in Baltimore when they were just 17 years old. While recalling their history, Wendy admitted that "his mama don’t like me." According to Wendy, Eddie’s mother does not like Wendy’s mother because she is a female chief. The dislike for Wendy's family is so bad, Eddie’s mother didn’t even come to their wedding and has yet to meet her three grandchildren. Eddie's family even threatened other people for attending the wedding. The strain between the two families has resulted in Eddie being estranged from his mother for years. Wendy, meanwhile, says she could never forgive his mother for hurting her husband because she was the one "who wiped his tears."

Now, it appears their appearance on RHOP has only made the family drama that much worse. One of Wendy's estranged in-laws recently reached out to All About the Tea to give their side on why the two families don't get along. “Wendy’s family is the Western equivalent of the ‘wrong side of the tracks,’” the insider claimed. “Her family and their ancestors have had bad reputations because of evils stemming from past generations. They are ‘Osu,’ essentially cursed. Osu families are avoided by non-Osu people.”

The source went on to explain why their Nigerian culture is what divides the two families. “Traditionally, when a couple decides to get married, both sides must trace back their lineage to ensure that they are from good stock, and not Osu-cursed,” explained the family insider. “Proceeding with a marriage despite the discovery of Osu lineage is not merely marrying down, but effectively destroying your family, their reputation, and limiting the social mobility of any future children."

When it comes to whether the two families will find peace, the source added, "The family is forever scandalized.” Once Wendy caught wind of the shady interview, she issued out a cease-and-desist letter to her in-laws, according to Reality Blurb. It looks like the Shakesperean tale surrounding her marriage still continues.
