How Many Bosses Valheim Has | Screen Rant

There are many goals that players will be thinking about when exploring the world of Valheim. From the minute the main character is dropped into the wilderness of the open-world setting, a fight for survival will keep players juggling needs like hunger, fatigue and temperature. They will also need to fend off enemies while attempting to build a suitable shelter, unlock better gear, and increase skills for more efficient fighting. However, Greydwarfs and angry Lox aren't the only enemies the player will take on, as there are many intimidating bosses players will need to summon and defeat throughout the game's storyline.

Currently there are 5 different bosses players can take on in Valheim's early access gameplay. The bosses range in difficulty, with the first actually available to summon quite early on if the player finds the needed items quickly. Players may want to wait before summoning the demon deer Eikthyr immediately despite the temptation, as the bosses that lurk in Valheim's wilderness aren't easy to defeat, and can send the player to an untimely demise if they aren't properly prepared.

Once players have defeated Eikthyr, they can travel to different biomes and locate the four remaining bosses. The Elder can be found in the Black Forest, while Valheim's Bonemass boss lives in the crypts of the swamps. Players can find the Moder in freezing mountain biomes after the player has suitable gear and potions to survive the temperatures. The final boss, Yagluth, is summoned on the plains. Each of the bosses requires specific items and circumstances to become available on the map, and won't vanish once summoned.

Valheim is currently in early access, with available gameplay subject to change as the developers move along the roadmap to a full release in future months. Because of this, the number of Valheim's bosses could change as new biomes and story elements are introduced. It is also possible that current bosses could see changes in difficulty, or even how they are spawned onto the map for players to fight. Currently the bosses appear to offer a good challenge to players, which is promising for additional content that might be added down the road.

Tackling Valheim's 5 boss fights will have players carefully storing supplies, crafting armor, and making potions to survive not just the fights, but the biomes the bosses live in. Because of this, players won't be able to rush through the game to defeat each boss, encouraging a steady level of progression that makes defeating these challenging opponents rewarding and fulfilling. Valheim offers players a unique and exciting open-world survival experience, and hopefully fans of the fledgling game will continue to receive interesting content to expand the world in future updates to come.
